We’ve been a little busy here at Casa Elder.

Or, should I say The Elder Farm?

Between converting the front yard to a garden over Mother’s Day weekend and installing a chicken coop ready with six laying hens yesterday, we’re starting to get strange looks from the neighbors.

As my friend Abbie drove away (they were her chickens, by the way) she yelled from her car, “Every weekend you guys look a little more hippie!”

And, you know what?

That’s fine by us (minus the whole “free love” thing and experimental drugs, and such).
